Someone just celebrated a big birthday, and that someone is me! I turned 35 last week, so that means I am getting closer to 40 than to 30. It doesn’t really bother me, and I have actually enjoyed my 30’s more than my 20’s! I have learned a lot over the past 35 years and have eliminated many things that I just don’t plain have time for anymore- and not necessarily that I am too busy (which I certainly have a full schedule!) but more that I just don’t have a patience for anymore. Here are 35 things I that I have no time for now that I’m 35:
1.People: Not all people (of course!!) but people that don’t make time for me, people that are immature, people that are rude or that don’t understand me. I have eliminated many people in my life over the past few years and it’s been one of the best things that I have done. As I get older, I am reminded how important it is to only surround yourself with people that build you up and bring positivity to my life. Happiness begets happiness- it’s truly a good thing.
2.Long lines
3.Crowds
4.Cheap face creams
5.Trying to be skinny. Say it with me, Michelle: “You’ll never be ‘skinny’ again!” After birthing three kids, my body has changed, and I just need to come to terms with that. What I DO have time for, however, is being healthy. As long as I am in a healthy weight range, and filling my body with good foods, most of the time, I am happy. Like that saying goes: some days are filled with salads and going to the gym, and others are for cake and sweatpants- it’s all about balance people!
6.Slow internet
7.Slow drivers
8.Slow things in general (I’m not getting any younger people!)
9.Drama- all kinds, and anyone that tries to bring it into my life
10.Jerks
11.Not making time to go to the doctor. When I was younger, I wouldn’t worry about keeping up with my yearly visits always, but now that I am older, I am making health a priority and I always keep up with doctor and dentist appointments.
12.Sun tanning
13.Staying up too late
14.Staying up too late drinking
15.HANGOVERS (for real!)
16.Excess debt
17.Sleeping in late (even though every once and a while I feel I want to, just once)
18.Doing things that make me unhappy
19.Being places that make me unhappy
20.Clubs
21.Dying my own hair
22.Trimming my own hair (basically because I’m terrible at it!)
23.Caring what other people think
24.Buying cheap furniture (most of the time)
25.Not investing in our retirement
26.Pointless fights with people
27.Not flossing
28.Not being up to date with current events
29.Not taking care of my skin
30.Not reading novels
31.Being jealous
32.Not using eye cream
33.Wishing the day away
34.Not seeing my family enough
35.Wasting time on things I can’t control
